Short Bio
Dr. Jan Jöhnk is a Product Owner, responsible for Microsoft Power Platform at HDI Global SE in Hanover, Germany and an affiliated researcher at the Research Center Finance & Information Management. In 2020, he received his doctorate in Information Systems and Strategic IT Management from the University of Bayreuth. In 2018, he visited the Department of Digitalization at Copenhagen Business School for a research stay. In his dissertation “Managing Digital Transformation: Challenges and Choices in Organizational Design and Decision-Making”, he examined how incumbents drive their digital transformation and organize around emerging technologies. Jan studied Business Administration (Master of Science) at the University of Bayreuth and Business & Economics (Bachelor of Science) at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. Further, he gained practical experience as IT project manager and IT consultant in various projects with large corporates and hidden champions.
In his research, Jan is especially interested in questions of digital transformation at the interface of IT organization, IT management, and emerging technologies. He publishes in internationally renowned scholarly journals (e.g., Business Information & Systems Engineering and Business Research) and presents his work at leading academic conferences (e.g., International and European Conference on Information Systems), earning a distinction as best research paper at ECIS 2017.
